TUXEDO Computers Launches Their First AMD Linux Laptop

  • TUXEDO Computers Launches Their First AMD Linux Laptop

TUXEDO Computers has launched their first AMD-powered Linux laptop! The excitement quickly faded though when seeing it's not a Renoir design.

While announcing the TUXEDO Book BA15 this weekend as their first AMD laptop, sadly it's based on a Ryzen 5 3500U and not the current Ryzen 4000 series with its mighty impressive performance and power efficiency gains thanks to the Zen 2 CPU cores. This though still should be a decent showing with the Ryzen 5 3500U with Vega graphics, metal chassis, 91 Wh battery, up to two SSDs, up to 32GB RAM, and 15.6-inch 1080p display. But given the timing just a shame it's not a current generation Ryzen 4000 laptop given the enticing performance from the latest hardware. Also a bummer with this design is that it seems to be relying upon single channel memory.

While you can install Linux on most laptop computers with Intel or AMD chips, a handful of companies will sell you a notebook that comes with Linux pre-installed. But most recent models have had Intel inside.

Now German company Tuxedo Computers is selling an AMD Ryzen-powered model called the Tuxedo Book BA15.

Tuxedo Computers has launched what it calls the “world’s first AMD-only and Linux-preinstalled laptop”.

The device is named the Tuxedo Book BA15, and it powered by the AMD Ryzen 5 3500U mobile chipset.

Both Ubuntu and Tuxedo OS are installed on the system by default, and the included software allows users to perform the Linux distribution of their choice automatically.

“For advanced users and selected devices we also offer openSUSE 15 with Xfce, Gnome, or KDE plasma,” Tuxedo Computers said.

“Of course fully configured and installed with all available updates and device drivers.”

If a user wants Windows on their laptop, they can order the laptop with the desired version of Windows installed alongside Linux.

Tuxedo Computers has released the Tuxedo Boot BA15 with an AMD Ryzen 3500 CPU.

Not one to rest on reputation, Tuxedo Computers has upped the ante for their Linux pre-installed options. This time around, the Linux-only computer manufacturer has released the first-ever Ryzen-powered Linux laptop. The Tuxedo Book BA15 has one option for CPU—the AMD Ryzen 5 3500. As for GPU, the BA15 ships with the AMD Radeon Vega 8.

This could be considered significant, given only days ago Linus Torvalds (the creator of Linux) announced he’d moved his main machine away from an Intel CPU to an AMD Ryzen. Torvalds claims the AMD Threadripper 3970x has his test builds of the kernel running three times faster than they were with the Intel chip.

Want a Linux laptop with an AMD Ryzen processor? Then you might be interested in the latest creation from a German PC maker, which is claiming a ‘world first’ with its Tuxedo Book BA15 having an AMD chip and Linux pre-installed.

While you can install Linux on many laptops if you so wish, having it arrive with the operating system already on the machine and fully configured means you don’t have to go through the hassle of wiping the portable of Windows 10 and installing (then setting up) the alternative OS. Also, those laptops which do come with Linux on-board run with Intel processors.

  • Find the coefficients of the Quadratic Equation of the given two roots with Python

In this example, you are expected to find the coefficients of the quadratic equation of the given two roots (x1 and x2) with a python function. The Quadratic Equation looks like this ax^2 + bx + c = 0. Our mission is to find the coefficients of the equations which is a, b, and c. The return type from the function is a Vector containing coefficients of the equations in the order (a, b, c). Since there are infinitely many solutions to this problem, we fix a = 1. Below is the method to find the return Vector.

  • 10 most useful Python Dictionary Methods

Dictionary is used in python to store multiple data with key-value pairs. It works like an associative array of other programming languages. The curly ({}) brackets are used to define a dictionary and the key-value is defined by the colon(:). The content of the key and value can be numeric or string. Python has many built-in methods to do different types of tasks on the dictionary data such as add, update, delete, search, count, etc. 10 most useful dictionary methods of python are explained in this article.

  • 10 most useful Python String Methods

The string data is the characters of an array that contains one or more characters as value for any programming language. All printable characters such as alphabets, numbers, special characters, etc. are commonly used in the string data. ASCII code and Unicode are mainly used for converting any character to a number that the computer can understand. Python uses Unicode characters for string data. We need to perform different types of tasks based on the programming purpose on the string data such as searching the particular character or characters, capitalizing the first character, making all characters uppercase, etc. Python has many built-in string methods to do these types of tasks very easily. The 10 most useful python string methods are explained in this article.
