ID Thieves Robbing the Cradle

The Seattle Times is running an interesting piece on a new trend of targetting children and young adults by identity thieves. They contend it's because so many years may pass before it's discovered.
"Becca Bartelheimer was 3 when her mom tried to open a savings account for her and learned someone had beaten her to it."
While "millions of adults say they've been victimized by identity theft — the FBI calls it one of the fastest-growing crimes in America, it comes as a surprise that children, teens and young adults are being targeted by identity thieves and finding themselves with black marks on their credit records, sometimes before they even apply for their first credit card, get a driver's license or open a bank account." What's this world coming to?
